The first Muso Meetup

In the lead up to launching Mostly Music in November 2022, many ideas were thrown around including hosting a get together of local musicians. Simply to get us all together in one space so that we could meet if we hadn’t already, chat if we wanted to, network to our hearts’ content, and maybe even brainstorm together spontaneously.

We’re pleased to share that we finally managed to get the first ‘Muso Meetup’ off the ground on Saturday 25th May and at its peak there were about 20-25 of us who had congregated at The Bond Store in Paraparaumu, all engaged in musical conversation.

A huge thanks is owed to The Bond Store who not only offered to host us, but also generously offered all musicians free corn chips and salsa, reduced prices on their hero product (gin) as well as discounts on the rest of their menu. But wait, there’s more! Chris Barber, The Bond Store’s owner, also gave us a shout out on LinkedIn, where he’s highly connected and respected, which has made us smile for the acknowledgement it gives musicians in the business world.

So it’s smiles all round, and a very clear message from the music community that more meetups are absolutely on the wishlist. That’s all the encouragement we needed. Let’s make it happen!

Cheers to our mate Andy of Andy Snaps for these pics of our first get together. May it be the first of many!

If you’re a musician or music industry professional based in Kāpiti (or surrounds), then join our email database to stay in the loop with Muso Meetups and any other opportunities we can get our hands on for musicians.
